The key to doing more pull-ups.......

Are you a bench press junkie, and you can put up a lot of weight? you can bang out a bunch of push-ups, too and you have a big chest. But when you try to do pull-ups, you can barely bend your elbows when your hanging from the bar. WHY? Your focus on chest training has led to severe muscle imbalance, and now your pecs are too tight to let your back muscles work properly.

WHAT TO DO?

Rest the meat,of your forearm against the frame of a squat rack or wall and lean forward so you can feel a stretch in your pecs. Hold for 60 secs and then repeat on the other side. Repeat for two to three sets. Now attempt your pull-ups.

Your pecs have been contracting during three pull-up when your lats should be. Stretching out your pecs beforehand will force them to relax and let the lats work properly. In other words, you'll get an instant shot of additional strength.
