FITNESS 4 MEN

Men are prone to special medical issues that can affect their quality of life as well as lead to death. Most men do not live as long as women and are more prone to die of causes such as:

  • Cancer- 45 percent of men will develop some form of cancer within their lifetime. That's a five percent higher rate than women, according to the CDC and the NCI Men are at highest risk for prostate cancer, lung cancer, and colorectal cancer. Exercise plays an important role in minimizing the risk of cancer. Getting in shape could mean saving a man’s life.

  • Heart attack and stroke- While women are more likely to die of some type of cardiovascular disease, men who have heart attacks are more likely to die from them than women. Maintaining a healthy weight and exercising are the most important things men can do to prevent heart attack and stroke.

  • Men are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes than women- 90 percent of all diabetes cases are type 2. This type can be prevented by living a healthy lifestyle, eating correctly, and by exercising and getting in shape.

Each of these can affect the longevity of a man's life.
